Absolutely Unbelievable

There are those of us who expected great things when Republicans took the House in 1994. We expected even greater things when they took the Senate and then the White House. Boy were we wrong. Capitol Hill Republicans have shown themselves, time and time again, to be nothing but gutless wonders, caving in again and again to the mainstream media and Democrats, both of whom hate us. After a decade in power, they still don't know how to play the game. The only thing Republicans have learned is how to spend OPM faster than it comes in.

Like it or not, oil is the lifeblood of the world. Solar power? Not much use on a rainy day. Wind power? Talk to the senatorial hypocrites in Massachusetts. Nuclear power? Not in my backyard. There you have it. We need oil. We've got oil. Are we going to go get it? Not on your life. Certain idiots have determined that "pristine wildnerness" and "tourism" trump need. They are going to refuse to drill, and the price of gas will go higher and higher while our economy sinks lower and lower. How much a gallon will we have to pay for gas before our elected "representatives" realize that their stupidity must come to an end.

The people in charge of this country are the very people who are destroying it! Elected officials at every level of government need to take the time to re-read the Declaration of Independence, if in fact they've ever read it in the first place. It says, ". . .That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government . . .". For far less than what we endure today, our Forefathers threw off the yoke of oppressive government. They said no taxation without representation. They should see it with representation.

It is long since past time for America to take care of itself. We feed, support, and defend the world, and we get nothing but grief. To the greedy and ungrateful who have been feeding at our trough for far too long now, I say push off.

The same goes for Louisiana, which is demanding $250 billion from us taxpayers to pay for its own incompetence. It's long since past time that the rest of America tell the people who insist on living in hurricane areas that's it's time for them to take care of themselves. If you insist on living there, then you should bear all the risk. If its cost prohibitive, then move. We the American taxpayers shouldn't have to pay year after year for your stupidity.

I am coming to the belief that it might be wise to let the Democrats back in power. Our slide into Third World backwater status would be much quicker than the agonizing slow death we are currently experiencing under the Republicans. There is, however, a bright side to no longer being a world power. The rest of the world would stop draining us dry. Terrorists would no longer be interested in us. Hey, the Hollywood left might actually leave. And, of course, we would no longer be the only country on the face of the planet responsible for global warming.
