He Couldn't Be More Wrong If He Tried

From the state of Vermont comes news that Judge Edward Cashman gave a 60-day sentence to a 34-year old man who admitted raping "a little girl many, many times over a four-year span, starting when she was seven."

He denied the People's request for an 8 to 20 year sentence saying he wanted to "take the long view" and that a lengthy prison term would "accomplish nothing but to harden this fellow." As if a 34-year old man who began raping a little girl when she was seven isn't hard enough.

A lengthy prison term would prevent this man from raping other little girls, and anyone too stupid to see that shouldn't be on the bench.

Vermont has more to answer for than just Howard Dean.
