Is There Something In The Water?

In the wake of two shootings that left two young girls dead, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley has demanded that all 1.5 million firearm owners in Illinois appear before him and explain why their weapons should not be banned or confiscated. Is this megalomania or simply insanity?

Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country, and still people have guns. When are liberals going to get it through their heads that making something illegal will not prevent it. Murder has been illegal for a couple of millenia now, and it's still going strong.

Mayor Daley said that the murders showed "a total disregard of human life, and it's as simple as that." If these people have no respect for human life, why on earth would anyone expect them to have respect for any law of any kind. Criminals don't obey the law, that's why they're called criminals.

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
