MoveOn.org has shown how truly pathetic it is. A videotape has surfaced showing President Bush being briefed about Hurricane Katrina the day before it hit, and hopalong.org is saying that "he knew exactly what was coming." There's a newsflash. Everybody with access to a TV, radio, or the internet knew what was coming. It's not like hurricanes just suddenly happen.

Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin also knew what was coming and what did they do? Absolutely nothing! Who can forget Mayor Nagin's plea for transportation when hundreds of buses sat under water.

Moving-into-oblivion.org goes on to say "There can now be no mistake: President Bush had a chance to lead, and he failed to keep us safe." Who on earth is stupid enough to fall for this crap? Could he single-handedly hold back the hurricane? Change its path? Alter its intensity? Could he in 24 hours repair the levees that had been allowed to fall into disrepair because (1) the leadership of Louisiana was busy spending its money elsewhere, and (2) the environmentalists had tied up the matter in the courts for years.

"The survivors of Katrina deserve to know why the president left them to suffer the storm." It was President Bush's fault that people who were physically able to leave their homes didn't? Anyone who stays put when he/she knows that a 100-foot wall of water is coming is a moron and deserves what he/she gets.

The tape reportedly shows former FEMA head Brown saying, "They're not taking patients out of hospitals, taking prisoners out of prison, and they're leaving hotels open in downtown New Orleans." Even if this so, it is a failure at the state and local levels.

Here's a piece of news for those of you who get all your information from the mainstream media: Uncle Sam cannot move in without permission from the state involved. Governor Blanco refused to sign the necessary papers that would have allowed federal intervention when it was most urgently needed.

President Bush is too much of a gentleman to blame the real culprits, who were completely and utterly incompetent but have gotten a pass from the "Bash Bush all the time" mainstream media.
