This 'n That

- It was recently announced that Washington D.C. is having a crime problem. Since our nation's capitol has some of the most draconian gun laws in the world on the books, how can they be having a crime problem? I thought banning guns was supposed to create utopia.

- The State of Georgia passed a law requiring photo ID for voters. Some black-robed bastard of the bench has issued a temporary restraining order preventing enforcement of that law saying that the poor and minorities might be disenfranchised. The only people who will be disenfranchised are the people who are too stupid to know how to get a free voter ID. And, they shouldn't be voting anyway!

- The Motor Voter Law mandates that anyone getting a driver's license or applying for welfare must be given a chance to register to vote. HOWEVER, it is illegal to ask for proof of citizenship. So, it is illegal for a non-citizen to vote AND it is illegal to ask for proof of citizenship before registering someone to vote. Sounds to me like the people behind this idea are the same people who shouldn't be voting in Georgia.

- The tax cuts instituted by President Bush increased tax revenues by 11% in the year 2005-06 and 34.6% since they were fully implemented in 2003. This increased revenue is responsible for reducing the deficit ahead of schedule. Despite this fact, Rep. David Obey (D-WI) has proposed raising taxes in order to reduce the deficit. Wisconsin sounds a lot like Georgia. By the way, since when do dimocrats care about deficits. They ran them pretty much the entire time they were in charge of Congress.

- Washington dimocrats recently took to staging photo-ops at gas stations to complain about the high price of gas and blame it on - are you ready - President Bush. The very people who have done the most to cause high gas prices are now complaining about them. The question then is, are they stupid or do they think we are? I'm sorry, that was a trick question. The real answer is both.

- Some federal agency just came out with the pronouncement that the first half of 2006 was the warmest on record. Really. Then why did I have snow in March and April? Apparently, Los Angeles didn't have a spring this year. Well, this is the first year I have had a spring in quite a while. Let me tell you now easy it is to skew facts and figures. The much-vaunted statistic that 50% of marriages end in divorce was based on the astonishingly sloppy way of gathering the data: comparing the number of marriage licenses that were issued in one year to the number of divorces that were filed that year.

- Dimocrats have pulled their ad showing the flag-draped coffins of America's finest.
