Once again, America is on the brink of having to raise the debt ceiling.  According to at least one democrat (Barack Obama, when he was but a lowly senator), raising the debt ceiling is a sign of "failure of leadership".

Here is the list of senate democrats, currently still in the senate, who voted against raising the debt ceiling when George W. Bush was president:

What do you want to bet that Harry Reid will excoriate those who vote against raising the debt ceiling now, even though the debt now is nearly twice as high as when he took his principled stance against such fiscal irresponsibility.

And not a single one of them will think their behavior hypocritical, neither will their lapdogs in the MSM, who will dutifully report that Republicans are, once again, being obstructionist and risking the full faith and credit of the United States.  I imagine that media hosts like Chris Matthews and Lawrence O'Donnell will be beside themselves with righteous indignation.
